Battling The Puppeteer

Battling The Puppeteer

Battling The Puppeteer… might just be the greatest battle against smoke and mirrors we face! We sometimes feel so bound by the imagined strings that demand our compliance to its every wish. And yet, we can become so angry and frustrated when the puppeteer won’t make the decision (won’t pull the string) for us in the looming uncertainty of the next step. This my friend is not a battle with the God who loves us but with the deceiver of our soul!

Always remember

A life lived in the Spirit who graciously guides us in all things, is about the privilege of being able to freely choose the next step and not about being puppeteered. Our great and merciful Father wants living sons and daughters with a mind, heart and will who can freely and wisely make their own choice in the face of uncertainty and not wooden carvings you manipulate and put in the closet at the end of the performance. Have you ever thought about the fact that our Heavenly Father is most honored when He has children He can “trust” to make   right decisions? Isn’t He the one who is lovingly guiding us toward wisdom, lifting us when we fall and holding our hand until we see our mistakes, applauding our every stumbling baby sized step?

Friend let go of…

even resist if need be this imagined puppeteer who demands compliance to the slightest manipulation of his hand. Embrace the real God who invites you to participate in His good plan. He is always there willing to help even in the face of uncertainty. Don’t submit to being bound by strings in the face of fearing the next step. Freely choose knowing the Father who loves you will be with you even in your mistakes. In the face of uncertainty don’t demand a string to be pulled which guarantees a right step but leaves you in bondage to the puppeteer. Trust the one who knows and loves you and enjoy the freedom of being on the path to becoming a child the  Lord enjoys and trusts!

2013 Ministry Update

Living Loved

Blessings Dear Friends and Family,

2013 has been an exciting year for Living Loved Ministries. It has been filled with many opportunities to meet those in spiritual, emotional and psychological pain with the healing love and freeing truth of Jesus Christ. Our mission has been to carry on the work of our Lord who came to bring good news to the afflicted, bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners.

Every day people walk into our office needing biblical advice about something they are facing. Often they come in with some form of disturbing fear about life, some inability to trust because of broken promises and painful injustices, some seething anger that often erupts into destructive rage, some deep draining hopelessness that has produced depression and despair or a great sadness because of a heart wrenching personal loss! They always come with a heart looking for answers even though they are often no longer sure there is one. Their emotional pain and confusion about whether God loves or cares about them has generally led them to conclusions that are stated in the form of a question… Is God really here? Does He care? Will it ever change? Will I ever be loved? What is wrong with me? What does he want from me? Is there any hope? What’s the point? They often feel that God is distant and disinterested, insensitive and uncaring, stern and demanding, nit-picking and exacting, impatient and angry and never satisfied with their performance. They come feeling confused, rejected, helpless, powerless, insecure, anxious, frustrated, jealous irritated, hurt, angry, ashamed, depressed, hopeless, lonely, overwhelmed, and inadequate for life’s difficulties. And yet, Living Loved Ministries has the blessed privilege of being there day in and day out with the Good News that our Lord still proclaims Come unto Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”Beloved the Spirit of the Living Christ is still saving souls and healing hearts today!

I absolutely love doing what our Lord has called me to do, because I feel His pleasure while I do it and I am often allowed to see the deeper beauty and glory of the (God’s unique and special creation) person I am counseling. He often allows me to experience His unquestionable unexplainable love for that person. He always gives me the gift of faith and hope that no one and no problem is beyond His power to help. I constantly bear in mind the responsibility laid upon my heart in Isaiah 50:4 “The Lord God has given me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens me morning by morning. He wakens my ear to hear as a disciple [one who is taught.]”

This year LLM had the blessed privilege of ministering to 70 new clients along with 32 other clients from 2012 that we are still working with on a regular basis. All of our new clients were referred by someone who received help from our ministry. We also worked together with WNC Men and Michael Fuchs to hold a men’s retreat called “Experiencing God’s Healing.” The Lord touched many men’s lives in a fresh new way!

As a faith based ministry our desire is that Biblical Counseling be available without cost to anyone who desires to come to Christ for healing and freedom. We were able to carry this out this year because of the many donations made by those who believe in and graciously gave to this ministry. Words cannot express the gratefulness we have for the $46,608.83 we have received through the first eleven months of 2013. These gifts allowed us to be there each day reaching out to help people walk through some of the most difficult times of their lives. These funds provided for office supplies, client materials, business expenses, accounting services, ministry insurance and salary needs. Of the $46,608.83 41.6% of it was given through donors who support this ministry and 58.4% through clients who gave in unsolicited thankfulness for this ministry. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the gifts that allow us to be there pointing people to Christ. Thank you for walking with us in this journey of sharing the Father’s love with those who desperately need Him. Thank you for every donation, every prayer and every word of encouragement. Living Loved Ministries would not exist without your loving help!

I pray that you have a wonderful Christmas and blessed New Year!

Experience God’s Healing – Men’s Retreat

Most men, like you and me, good men, men who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and are going to Heaven, are not living in real freedom here on earth. We have issues with one or more of these; marriage, anger, depression, drinking, purpose, drugs, workaholic, pornography, provision, adultery, balance and parenting.

We spend countless hours trying to “fix” the issues, but the issues are just symptoms of a broken place within you. When God heals that broken place in your heart, the symptoms go away. Are you ready for that kind of HEALING? Are you ready for that kind of FREEDOM?

WNCMEN is partnering with Pastor Jim Brackett and Living Loved Ministries to host a retreat for 22 men: Experiencing Gods Healing

THIS IS NOT listening to sermons
THIS IS NOT for spectators
THIS IS NOT a retreat to give you tools to help you with your marriage, anger, depression, drinking, purpose, drugs, workaholism, pornography, provision, adultery, balance or parenting. These “issues” will not even be addressed!

THIS IS about Experiencing God’s Healing. This is for men, like me, who recognize their need for healing, are ready to deal with their stuff, and let God bring more healing, freedom and direction to their heart and life. This weekend will help each man look at their history (his story) and identify areas of brokenness that God wants to heal, while giving you the direction necessary to receive that healing.

Here are the details:

Where: Blueridge Assembly – Black Mountain, NC
When: Friday September 13, 5:30pm to Saturday September 14, 3:00pm
Food: Steak dinner Friday night and breakfast & lunch on Saturday are included
Lodging: 2 large houses on site
Cost: $60 per person

This is the first of what we hope to be many retreats like this. You may think that by registering for this first retreat you are a bit of a guinea pig. You’d be right. lol

IMPORTANT: As you think about this there may be a man or two that comes to mind who you know needs this and would like to bring with you, however, just because you recognize a need doesn’t mean they are ready or at a place to work on their stuff. Please keep that in mind. This is a contact sport weekend!

Lessons from Gabriel – BEAUTIFUL DAY?

Gabriel Brackett

What is it that makes a day beautiful to you? Gabriel spent last night with us and was awake this morning before the sun came up. I went into his room to get him so he wouldn’t wake Nana up. The first words out of his mouth were “Papa it sure is a beautiful day.” Read This Article

Lessons from Gabriel – Do you have a Gabriel in your life?

Gabe Brackett

Daniel 9:20-21 says ‘Now while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God, while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.   He gave me instruction and talked with me and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding. “

Unconditional Love?

How have we come to be more focused on our failures than God’s faithfulness? Our life in God rises out of our security in His love, not our insecurity that we don’t love Him enough. Trying harder doesn’t produce a relationship with God it only deepens the sense of condemnation that keeps us from Him. Read This Article

Come out, Come out!

Come out, Come out! Where ever you are! Hiding is the first fundamental behavioral outcome of sin. I hide parts of myself from other parts of me. I hide from other people. And I hide from God. To often the painful fear of feeling our shame causes us to avoid the discipline of confession and forgo the liberty of forgiveness. Shame ignited by fear always leads to coverup. The Gospel is the call to come out and be known and be forgiven. “Where are you…?” Proverbs 28:13
